Rooney to return against Wigan?

Wayne Rooney could make his Manchester United return against Wigan Athletic at Old Trafford, according to Sir Alex Ferguson.

The striker has just returned to United's Carrington training base after spending a week doing conditioning work in Portland, USA, and Ferguson believes the England star could be ready to play sooner than later.
"Wayne's had a good week, he's trained very hard, two days two sessions, three days three sessions, we've achieved what we wanted to achieve," Sir Alex Ferguson told the Manchester Evening News.

The striker's last start was against Bolton at the end of September, and he has missed 13 out of 20 games for the Red Devils this season.
