They stay ahead of the Tampa Bay Rays who beat Los Angeles Angels 4-3.
Joel Pineiro, making his first start for the Angels since July 21, was in line for a win after Juan Rivera's homer, but Carlos Pena sent it into extras with an RBI single, and the Rays won on a walk-off error in the 10th.
